Literature Text

Isn't it strange
how the brightest people draw in the grey
and wrap themselves in a blanket cloud
to hoarde the cold within
and shiver,
while thousands of others
shine their light for all to see
and yet meet only stone?

Why is it that the sun
draws the water so crystaline
and turns it into a sooted layer
to hide the light from the world?
And why is it that people
complain that the sunniest days
are blinding and boiling,
just as they are beautiful?

... But then again,
the rain falls sweet from the clouds,
and each and every drop
shatters into a thousandfold pieces
of lifebringing,
and when the sunlight falls upon it
the world is struck dumb
in awe of the beauty
which has been caught.

Perhaps the greys are there
to send the rain
and bring life,
and the suns are there
to catch the rain
and make it bright.

Who knows?
Maybe they'll make a rainbow.

~ A poem which I wrote for somebody. We both love weather which is both sunny and rainy at once. ~~~ Enjoy! ^___^

Aww...

It's really quite sweet. :aww:

I'm not particularly fond of the "And" right at the end. Just "Who knows?" is more clean cut, but... I really like the description and how you seem to be hinting something... in between the lines.

You've conveyed quite a profound tone and atmosphere too. 'Tis emphasised by the questions asked.
